By Zoila Palma: On May 26, 2026, the Ministry of Health and Wellness handed over 3 Toyota New Ambulances destined to the Punta Gorda Community Hospital, the Placencia Polyclinic, and the San Ignacio Community Hospital.
The Ministry says that the ambulances were purchased by the Government of Belize recognizing the need to update the local fleets.
“The acquisition will directly contribute to improve quality of transfers of patients from within the public network of health facilities, that arise either to access secondary or tertiary care or to access diagnostic support services,” the Ministry noted.
