By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is hosting a three-day training on the evaluation and clinical assessment for sexual assault victims.
The training began on Monday, June 9 with medical professionals who are often the first point of contact for survivors of sexual assaults.
The main objective of the training is to equip the medical professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and protocols to sensitively and effectively manage cases of sexual assault.
“The Ministry recognizes that these officers play a pivotal role in the healing and justice for these victims. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of medical practice in this sensitive area,” the Ministry expressed.
