By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology officially unveiled BESplan 2.0, the nation’s strategic roadmap for education for the 2026-2030 period.
Building on the foundation of the previous plan, this new strategy prioritizes the modernization of Belize’s education system through digital innovation, competency-based learning, and expanded access for all students.
Minister of Education Francis Fonseca shared that key highlights include teacher retooling supported by an investment from the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the expansion of the Education Upliftment Project to more schools nationwide, and a continued focus on curriculum reform designed to prepare students for global competitiveness and national development.
