By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology (MoECST) has signed two contracts with Digi, the national telecommunications provider, to expand the ConnectED program, which ensures reliable, high-speed internet access to schools across the country.

The initiative, which has already connected 213 schools nationwide, will now be extended to 70 additional schools, enabling online learning opportunities for even more students.

Once fully implemented, the program will benefit 78,000 students and 4,500 teachers by providing crucial internet connectivity to enhance education.

The signing ceremony, held at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic School in Ladyville Village, also included a donation of 21 Chromebook computers to the school from MoECST, further supporting the program’s goals to empower students and educators.
