By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) recently met and voted to demonstrate in January if teachers do not receive their increments and allowances owed.

The Ministry of Education has reportedly responded to the BNTU and assured teachers that they will receive the money by December 20.

“The work to ensure that those teachers who are due increments and allowances has not faltered. Kindly note that we expect all outstanding payments for those teachers to be made by December 20, 2024,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry expressed optimism to have the issue resolved by next week.
