By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MoECST), in partnership with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) officially handed over a refurbished classroom block to Trial Farm Government School in the Orange Walk District.
The rehabilitation works included the complete replacement and repair of the building’s roof, addressing longstanding leaks and structural challenges, as well as upgrades to the electrical system, including the installation of ceiling fans to enhance safety and improve comfort for students and teachers.
Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, was joined by Dr. Isaac Solomon, Vice President of Operations at the Caribbean Development Bank; Elbert Ellis and other officials of the CDB; Yolanda Gongora, Chief Education Officer; Ingrid Acosta, Senior Project Coordinator; and members of the Project Execution Unit for the official handover ceremony.
The keys to the refurbished facility was formally presented to Vincenta Ramclam, Principal of Trial Farm Government School.
The Ministry says that this highlights the continued partnership between the Government of Belize and the Caribbean Development Bank in advancing safe, modern, and conducive learning environments for Belizean students.
