By Zoila Palma: On December 9, 2025, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology broke ground on an infrastructure upgrade at the Orange Walk Technical High School.
The Government of Belize is investing in the construction of 2 new classroom buildings that will replace a building that needs to be demolished, with the aim of better accommodating the growing student population.
The new infrastructure will include 8 classrooms, bathroom facilities, and a new home economics and science block featuring a kitchen, five workstations, a sewing room, two computer labs, a biology and chemistry lab, and a physics lab.
The project, jointly funded by the GOB and the Caribbean Development Bank, is valued at $6 million and is expected to be completed in 14 months.
