By Zoila Palma: On March 25, 2026, Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education, and Cornelio Acosta, Chairman of Belize Water Services Ltd., formalised a partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology and BWS.
Through this initiative, BWS will adopt and fully outfit a dedicated Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Sensory Room at Stella Maris Special Education & Life Skills Learning Centre, contributing a nearly $100,000 investment toward its development.
The Ministry of Education says that the new space will be ready for use when students return to a fully refurbished Stella Maris, as the Ministry continues its ongoing renovation of the institution.
“Partnerships like these are helping to create inclusive, supportive learning environments where every child can thrive. We thank the Belize Water Services Ltd for their partnership,” the Ministry said.
