Ministry of Economic Development donates equipment valued at US $93,495 to enhance Agrometeorological Section of Met Service

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Ministry of Economic Development (MED), through its Resilient Rural Belize (RRB) Program, donated US$93,495.00 in equipment to the National Meteorological Service of Belize (NMS).

This contribution, funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Green Climate Fund, includes 9 types of equipment such as radiation sensors, wind monitors, and data loggers.

The donation aims to strengthen the Agrometeorological Section of the NMS, enabling it to provide real-time weather information to rural farmers.

This will help farmers plan their activities more effectively and reduce climate-related losses.
