By Zoila Palma: Justino Palomo, Project Development Specialist at the Ministry of Economic Development, participated in the Energy Exchange Forum on Energy Sustainability and E-Mobility.
Leading the discussion, Palomo highlighted the Ministry’s role in unlocking climate finance for National Priority Projects and introduced the E-Mobility & Logistics Transformation (BELT) initiative.
The concept note, which Palomo presented, focuses on three key components:
Creating an enabling environment for a climate-resilient, low-carbon transport sector.
Promoting the integration of climate-resilient technologies like electric buses and charging stations into public transportation.
Building capacity and raising public awareness to support a low-carbon transport future.
The initiative aims to transform Belize’s public transportation system into a sustainable, green model.
