By Zoila Palma: On May 7, 2026, the Ministry of E-Governance supported the launch of the Youth Initiative Project, “From Identity to Industry,” aimed at helping young people gain practical skills and improve access to employment opportunities.
The initiative was officially launched at the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council.
The collaborative project focuses on equipping youth with hands-on training while creating pathways for greater economic participation.
The program is designed to prepare young people for the workforce and support their long-term development.
Through its involvement, the Ministry emphasized the role of digital identity and technology-driven systems in expanding opportunities for Belizean youth.
The initiative also supports the registration of young people and other individuals into the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics system, helping to strengthen access to legal identity and workforce readiness.
