Ministry of Agriculture Press Release

In a collaborative effort to promote environmental education, National Tree Coordinator, Barry Palacio, joined by Coconut Tree Project Officer Enrique Rivas and Nursery Technician, Sonia Velasquez, conducted an interactive training session today at the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School in Bullet Tree village.

The focus of the training was to equip students in grades 4, 5, and 6 with knowledge about the production and effective management of pitahaya. Through engaging interactions, students were exposed to the intricacies of cultivating this unique fruit.

As a tangible contribution to the school’s learning environment, a donation of pitahaya cuttings was generously provided. This hands-on approach aims to empower students and encourage the integration of sustainable practices in their daily lives.
