By Zoila Palma: Recently, the Cayo Extension Service, with support from the CRESAP Project, successfully conducted a Pasture Management and Farm Management Training in the Waterhole area.
The training was facilitated by Extension Officer Franklin Padron and Extension Officer Adelita Jones, who provided participants with practical knowledge on pasture establishment, grazing management, forage production, and effective farm management practices to improve livestock productivity and sustainability.
Neidy Moh, CRESAP Officer, educated farmers about the CRESAP Project, highlighting its objectives, benefits, and the support available to livestock producers through the initiative.
A total of 20 farmers actively participated in the training, engaging in discussions and sharing experiences related to livestock and pasture management.
To support pasture improvement efforts, each participating farmer received Brizantha and Mombasa grass seeds for establishment on their farms.
Additionally, a variety of farm tools and supplies, including hammers, machetes, and barbed wire fencing materials, were raffled among participants.
