Ministry of Agriculture hosts meeting with Grains stakeholders in Blue Creek

By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise held a productive meeting with key grain-producing communities to discuss the current stock availability of major grains and legumes in Belize.

The meeting was held in Blue Creek in the Orange Walk District.

Participating communities included:

Blue Creek, Spanish Lookout, Little Belize, Shipyard, Indian Creek, and Neuland.

Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and  CARDI (Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute) were present at the meeting.

Discussions included the availability of key commodities such as corn, soybean, red kidney beans, and black beans, with the aim of supporting informed decision-making for national food security and trade.

The Ministry extended thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions and ongoing commitment to strengthening Belize’s agriculture sector.
