By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 3, 2024, CEO in the Ministry of Agriculture Servulo Baeza officiated a ceremony in which Jose Tillett was officially awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master’s Degree in Post-Harvest Management, courtesy of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Ministry noted that the need for the post graduate degree arose after JICA provided containers converted for refrigerated storage of vegetable crops, with several issues arising with use of the containers.
CEO Baeza expressed appreciation to the government of Japan for their generosity and consideration and indicated the expertise gained will serve several sectors of the agriculture industry well.
Tillett departs to Yamagata University in Japan in October.
