By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Taiwan Embassy in Belize has expressed gratitude to Orlando Habet, Minister of Sustainable Development Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management of Belize, for voicing support of Taiwan’s participation in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at COP 28 in Dubai.
COP28 aims to build on previous national successes at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations and is intended to pave the way for increasing ambition to achieve the Paris Agreement goals.
“The Embassy would like to once again extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Government of Belize for always being at the forefront of calling for Taiwan’s international participation,” the Taiwan Embassy noted.
The Taiwan Embassy said that with the strong support and warm friendship of Belize, Taiwan can play a constructive role in the global community.
