Minister of Foreign Affairs meet with OAS Secretary General to discuss Regional cooperation

By Zoila Palma:  Minister of Foreign Affairs Francis Fonseca, held a bilateral meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Albert Ramdin, during his official visit to Washington, D.C.

The two leaders engaged in discussions on pressing hemispheric priorities, including democratic governance, regional cooperation, and the role of multilateralism in addressing shared challenges across the Americas.

Minister Fonseca reiterated Belize’s strong support for the work of the OAS and emphasized the country’s ongoing commitment to the principles of democracy, dialogue, and collective action within the Inter-American system.

He also expressed Belize’s appreciation for the OAS’s continued support in the Belize-Guatemala process, which remains a vital component of regional peace and stability.
