By Zoila Palma: On March 18, 2026, Dr. Osmond Martinez, Minister of State in the Ministry of Economic Transformation hosted Erwin De Nys, Manager of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean, the World Bank in Punta Gorda Town.
The visit provided an opportunity to review proposed activities in potential sites where the Blue Cities and Beyond project will assist in mitigating flooding by improving drainage systems.
Other representatives from the World Bank Group and Ministry of Economic Transformation joined and contributed valuable insights to the discussions.
The Ministry says that it remains committed to supporting the successful development and implementation of new initiatives to ensure that it delivers meaningful benefits to the community.
