By Zoila Palma: Today, Minister of Agriculture Rodwell Ferguson met with a group of farmers from Hopkins as part of his tour of the Stann Creek District.
The farmers met with Minister Ferguson and Minister of State Alex Balona along with a team from the Ministry of Agriculture to discuss various issues relating to the group’s organization, plan of work and issues related to assistance for their farming activities.
Minister Ferguson and the Agriculture team will work with the group to ensure their status as registered farmers and a registered cooperative of farmers remains active, as well as assist with technical guidance in their activities.
Discussions will continue as they find a pathway for success as a farming cooperative.
