By Zoila Palma: Today, Minister Kevin Bernard issued a statement calling out a media house that reported that he is somewhat involved in or have interest in Isecurity Limited.
“I wish to make it unequivocally clear to the public and to the media:
– I have had NO financial interest, stake, or involvement in ISECURITY LIMITED since August 15, 2022. -On that date, I fully and lawfully divested ALL my shares (2,500) in the company through a properly executed transfer to Mr. Ian Emmanuel Cal. This transaction was registered with the Belize Companies and Corporate Affairs Registry (File #19086).
– Since that time, I have had NO involvement in the management, operations, or contractual dealings of ISECURITY LIMITED,” Bernard stated.
In addition, Bernard said that as a minister of Government, he holds transparency, accountability, and public trust as paramount.
“It is therefore important that I correct this misleading narrative, which has the potential to unjustly harm my reputation and standing,” Bernard added.
Bernard further called on the media to exercise journalistic responsibility and issue a public correction and clarification to their audience.
“I remain committed to serving the people of Orange Walk East and Belize with integrity and transparency,” Bernard expressed.
