The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change noted that communications personnel from the Ministry shared important information on the Micro-Grants Program, implemented under the GEF-6 Project, which focuses on safeguarding communities and strengthening resilience within the Belize River Watershed.
The GEF-6 Project, “Integrated Management of Production Landscapes to Deliver Multiple Global Environmental Benefits,” is being implemented by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Solid Waste, in collaboration with key partners.
“The initiative seeks to protect Belize’s rich biodiversity and natural resources by promoting sustainable farming practices and responsible land-use planning across the watershed,” the Ministry explained.
This session was organized by Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) in collaboration the University of Belize – Environmental Research Institute (UB-ERI) and the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Solid Waste Management.
The Ministry thanked GEF-6 donors, GEF Belize, and UNDP Belize for their continued support in empowering communities and protecting our natural heritage.
