Michael Foreman, a construction worker of #4314 Rivero Street, appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Mannon Dennison in Court #6 at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he was read a single charge of possession of a controlled drug, namely 41.24 grams of cannabis.

Foreman wasted no time in pleading guilty to the charge. In mitigation, he told the court, “I told the cop I only used it to smoke. I nuh sell weed.”

For his guilty plea, Foreman was handed a non-custodial sentence of a $400 fine plus a $5.00 cost of court. He was given until April 30, 2026, to pay the total sum of $405. In default of payment, he will serve four weeks imprisonment.
