By Aaron Humes: Having cleared the Windward Islands this morning, Category 4 Hurricane Beryl is hurtling through the Caribbean Sea.
For the moment, Belize could still be affected according to Chief Meteorologist Ronald Gordon, who said the storm’s current west-northwest track should shift by Wednesday as it encounters a ridge of pressure in the Central Caribbean.
Beryl packs sustained winds of 150 miles per hour but is forecast to weaken as it crosses the Caribbean.
Nonetheless, Belizeans are urged to watch and get ready as there is still much uncertainty over the storm’s path up to Wednesday.
After this afternoon’s briefing, daily virtual morning briefings will be held depending on what the storm does.
