The Argentine captain, along with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, took to Instagram to share moments of joy with their three sons: Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro, ages 11, 8, and 6 respectively.
In heartfelt posts, Messi expressed gratitude to his family, captioning a photo with “F A M I L I A Gracias por estar SIEMPRE,” which translates to “Family, Thank you for always being there.”
Roccuzzo also joined in the celebration, posting, “CAMPEONES DE AMERICA, VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!,” translating to “Champions of America, Let’s go Argentina!!”
Argentina clinched the victory with a 1-0 triumph over Colombia in extra time, securing their 16th Copa América title.
Lautaro Martínez scored the decisive goal, as Messi, despite sustaining an ankle injury during the match, watched from the bench during overtime.
The Copa América final took place at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, though the event was marred by delays. The match was delayed by nearly ninety minutes due to security concerns stemming from attempts by unauthorized fans to enter the venue.
During halftime, Colombian singer Shakira electrified the stadium with her performance, treating fans to hits like “Hips Don’t Lie.”
Argentina’s win marks their second consecutive Copa América triumph, following their victory in the 2021 tournament.
Messi, a figure of global football stardom, continues to solidify his legacy as he celebrates this latest achievement with his supportive family by his side.
