By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): With reverence and unity, Belizeans gathered on Sunday morning at Memorial Park to mark Remembrance Day 2025, paying heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to their country and peace.
At 9:00 a.m., the Remembrance Day Parade commenced in Belize City, led by veterans and joined by members of the Belize Defence Force, Police Department, Coast Guard, BATSUB, and other uniformed services. They marched in formation, their steps echoing through the park as a sign of honor and gratitude for those who served and sacrificed.
The ceremony featured the laying of wreaths at the cenotaph, the playing of the Last Post, and a moment of silence, a moving reminder of the price of freedom and the enduring spirit of Belize’s heroes.
Civic groups, students, and members of the public also attended, creating a powerful display of national respect and unity. The atmosphere was one of solemn reflection, as Belize collectively honored those who fought to safeguard peace and liberty at home and abroad.
“Their courage lives on in the freedoms we enjoy today,” said one attendee, as the crowd stood still in remembrance.
Remembrance Day continues to be one of Belize’s most meaningful traditions, a day not only to look back with gratitude but also to reaffirm the values of service, sacrifice, and national pride.
