By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk are investigating a theft reported in Trial Farm Village that resulted in losses totaling $6,100.

Reports indicate that 52-year-old Santos Godoy, a mechanic, was at home asleep around 2:00 a.m. on March 11, 2026, when barking dogs alerted him.

Godoy went outside to investigate and reportedly saw a male person beside his vehicle.

He observed that the individual had already cut cables from his Dodge computer engine.

The suspect reportedly threw away the computer engine but escaped with cables valued at $3,500, along with additional cables from a Hilux valued at $2,000.

Godoy pursued the suspect, who dropped some of the stolen Dodge cables, which were later recovered.

However, the thief managed to escape with the Hilux cables.

Further checks of surveillance footage revealed that the same individual may have been responsible for a previous theft involving two aluminum air boxes valued at $600.

Police investigations are ongoing.
