By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 44-year-old mechanic from Southside Belize City remains on remand after being unable to post bail following his arraignment for possession with intent to supply 7.18 kilograms of marijuana.
Stanley Rhashaun Fuller, a resident of Pen Road, was brought before the court after being detained for five days. He turned himself in on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, following a police investigation into a vehicle linked to a significant drug bust. Fuller, who was unrepresented in court, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Fuller appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2, where he was formally charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. Despite objections to bail, he was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 or two sureties of $2,500 each. However, he was unable to meet the bail requirements and was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until his next court date, set for May 16, 2025.
Police reports indicate that on Monday, March 17, 2025, around 2:30 p.m., officers received information about a vehicle suspected of carrying cannabis and firearms. Acting on this tip, officers from Precinct 3 located a black SUV, license plate 73369, parked on Frederick Alley, Belize City. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found locked with no occupants inside.
To gain access, authorities summoned a Justice of the Peace, a tow truck, and a locksmith. The vehicle was then transported to the police station, where, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers conducted a search in the presence of a JP. The search revealed two cement-like sacks marked “Pegamarmol Pegaduro,” containing a total of 14 parcels of marijuana weighing 7.18 kilograms.
A subsequent investigation at the Traffic Department on March 18, 2025, traced the vehicle’s ownership to a 45-year-old man from Southside Belize City. A warrant has since been issued for his arrest.
The next day, March 19, Fuller voluntarily visited Precinct 3 Police Station, claiming he had rented the vehicle from a woman. He presented a tax invoice showing he had leased the SUV from March 14 to March 17, 2025, for $150 per day, totaling $600, with an additional security deposit of $300.
Despite his claims, police detained Fuller and charged him in connection with the drug find. Authorities have also issued a wanted notice for a 45-year-old woman believed to be connected to the case. Investigations remain ongoing.
