Mayor Wally Nunez sets eye on Andre Perez’ seat!

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The People’s United Party (PUP) has officially announced that applications are open for those wishing to represent the party as Standard Bearer in the next general elections.

Since then, many contenders for numerous divisions across the country have expressed their interest in running for the General Elections.

While the party is yet to vet candidates and announce conventions, the political landscape is heating up.

In Belize Rural South, Mayor Wally Nunez has since publicly expressed interest in the seat that is now held by Minister Andre Perez.

“The people of San Pedro and Caye Caulker have been asking for quite some time now if I will represent them in the General elections. Well this is testament that I will be sending in my application to represent you all! Let democracy prevail,” Nunez posted to Facebook.

Supporters have since geared up for a campaign to elect Nunez as their next standard bearer.

Ultimately, the residents of Belize Rural South will decide if Nunez or Perez is best suitable to represent them in the next general elections.
