By Zoila Palma: Three-term Mayor of Belize City Bernard Wagner has tapped Deputy Mayor Eliude Miller as his successor.
During an interview with 7News Belize, Mayor Wagner said that Miller has worked his way up from being an intern to a staff working in the finance department to a Councillor and now to Deputy Mayor.
In addition, Mayor Wagner said that he believes Miller will be able to continue the work of the Belize City Council.
“He has been one of the closest persons in terms of being around me and seeing the sort of relationships that I have both at the grassroots level, both at the business community level, both at the public service level and he has been able to learn everyday we learn,” Wagner said.
Mayor Wagner says that his term continues up to February 27, 2027 and he intends to fully complete his term.
