By Zoila Palma:  During an interview with 7News Belize, Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena Earl Trapp says that even though UDP Cayo North standard bearer Omar Figueroa resigned from the UDP, he has pledged support for the UDP slate going into the 2027 Municipal elections.

In addition, Mayor Trapp says that he supports Figueroa’s reasons for his resignation.

“I support his reasons and I believe that in any leadership listening and humility is of key and I have said it to some of my leaders and I will say it to the country now to the world that in any organization we might not be seeing, as individuals, be seeing eye to eye but we have to realize that we work as a team and as a team, each individual brings his own strength because we are not perfect we have some weaknesses but we have to be more optimistic and look at the strength of each individual other than looking at the weaknesses. Put the strength together to fight the enemy and that will help us to overcome our enemies,” Trapp said.

Trapp says that “We don’t want a leader that is yes sir yes sir that doesn’t work for me. I don’t believe in that, so long as the leaders that surround you as the main head are aligned with your vision with your purpose I guess and I believe that you must do your part in trying your best to understand that and those individuals.”
