This weekend, Armenia Village is abuzz with a two-day celebration honoring the Deer Dance. Festivities kicked off yesterday, April 27th, at 7:00 am and continue through the evening, taking place at the football field beside the Hummingbird Highway. Celebrations will continue on Monday, April 29th, with events running from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at the same location.
The Maya Deer Dance is a deeply symbolic cultural treasure in Belize. Featuring elaborate costumes and traditional music, the dance often tells a story of the hunt while conveying a profound respect for nature.
