According to Inès Tresident-Ranguin (La1ere.francetvinfo Martinique) the big evening dedicated to Martinican talents promises to be “a journey from opera to current music.” This year, nine candidates will bring their voices to the stage. The grand national final will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at 7:30pm at the National Opera of Paris.

The most beautiful voices of Martinique will resonate in the historic setting of the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre, on the occasion of the Martinique final of the 6th edition of the Voix des Outre-mer competition.

The competition, imagined and organized by the Martinican countertenor Fabrice di Falco, president of Voix des Outre-mer, and Julien Leleu, president of the association “Les Contres Courants,” aim to highlight the overseas elite of lyrical singing. The objective of this competition is to “make visible the richness and diversity of overseas territories and to celebrate music in all its forms through the promotion of lyrical singing.”

A springboard for overseas amateur singers

Before the big event, participants from Martinique were able to benefit from personalized advice and vocal coaching with a team of music professionals.

As a reminder, the competition is aimed at overseas talents and overseas residents who reside in France, who love music in all its forms such as jazz, zouk, rock or soul, whether they have training or not. Its primary purpose is to prepare candidates for a career path.

Since its creation in 2017, the public has seen the emergence of many Martinican talents such as Naily Pignet, Axelle Rascar Moutoussamy, and Livia Louis Joseph Dogué.

The grand national final will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at 7:30pm at the Paris National Opera.
