By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The FFB and Concacaf have confirmed their full match‑day squad for tonight’s Concacaf U17 Qualifiers opener against El Salvador at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City. Head coach Philip Marin has named a starting, supported by a nine‑man bench offering depth across every position.
Earlier today, Group F opened with Cuba defeating Curaçao 1–0, adding early pressure to the standings ahead of Belize’s debut. According to Concacaf, tonight marks the first-ever U17 meeting between Belize and El Salvador in the regional World Cup qualifiers. Belize fell to Nicaragua in the 2025 edition, while El Salvador enter this year’s qualifiers with a record of one draw and one loss from their previous tournaments.
Starting XI
Belize will be anchored in goal by Lucas Gallego, with defensive support from Elroy Willis Jr., Devaughn Quintanilla, Andy Pop, and Jahvyn Clarke.
In midfield, captain Marlon Meza Jr. leads the team, joined by Clive Medwood Jr. and Juan Diego Dussan, both of whom impressed during the team’s preparation in Guatemala.
Up front, Belize will rely on the attacking trio of Barack Morey, Jordan Glenn, and Jahson Stanford to generate chances and apply pressure on the Salvadoran back line.
