Marlon Kuylen elected President of the Premier League of Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Marlon Kuylen was elected President of the Premier League of Belize during the league’s Ordinary Elective Congress held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, ushering in a new four‑year leadership cycle for Belize’s top football league.

Kuylen, who also serves as an Executive Member of Belize’s highest football authority, the Football Federation of Belize (FFB), replaces outgoing president Ian Haylock.

Wilhelm Miguel continues as General Secretary, ensuring administrative continuity.

Contested and uncontested positions

Only two positions were contested during the Congress.

The remaining three positions—two Executive Members and the Woman Executive Member—were uncontested.

New Executive Committee (2026–2030)

Skwara, the President of Belmopan FC, is an American citizen and becomes the first foreigner to serve as an Executive Member of the Premier League of Belize, marking a notable milestone in the league’s administrative history.

It is noteworthy that Altitude have now been inactive for two seasons, while San Pedro Pirates are inactive for the first time, making the outgoing committee’s club representation particularly significant in the context of recent league participation.
