By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 23-year-old Mahogany Heights resident is free after his girlfriend, who accused him of threatening her with a knife, requested no further court action.
Evan Andrews appeared unrepresented in Court #1 before Magistrate Ludlow Black on Monday, where he was arraigned on a single charge of aggravated assault with a deadly instrument.
Despite visible injuries to his right eye, Andrews pleaded not guilty. However, the complainant, his girlfriend, took the stand and informed the court she no longer wished to proceed with the matter.
The prosecution offered no further evidence, and the charge was formally withdrawn, allowing Andrews to walk free.
