By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk District are searching for a man following a reported domestic assault in August Pine Ridge Village.
According to reports, a 22-year-old woman visited the police station on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and stated that the incident occurred the previous afternoon at her home. She reported that her common-law husband arrived under the influence of alcohol and attempted to embrace her, which she refused.
The situation reportedly escalated when the man became aggressive and allegedly slapped and punched her multiple times. A relative who was present intervened, causing the suspect to leave the scene.
The woman later sought medical attention, and her injuries were classified as harm.
Police have since issued a wanted notice for the suspect as investigations continue.
