By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 28 year old construction worker of English Caye Street, Orange Walk Town, says his own brother broke into his home and stole his belongings.
The man told police he left his house secured on September 23 to work in Belize City, with several screws fastened to the front door.
When he returned around noon on Saturday, October 3, the screws had been removed and the house was ransacked.
Missing were a fan, a bucket of paint, a pack of fabric softener, six bed sheets, a crock pot, a medium gas tank and assorted dishes, with a combined value of about $848.
He told police it is not the first time his home has been broken into, and that each time it has been his brother. He said that when he confronted his brother on Saturday, the brother admitted taking the items.
A 34 year old laborer of the same street has been detained.
