By Breaking Belize News Staff: Thirty-six-year-old Eugene McFoy is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after a Magistrate denied him bail on a burglary charge arising from an alleged domestic dispute.
McFoy appeared before Magistrate Mannon Dennison in Court #6, where he was read a single charge of burglary. He pleaded not guilty to the offense.
The charge stems from allegations that on December 7, 2025, McFoy unlawfully entered a home on Lockes Alley, Belize City, and caused damage to several household items. Prosecutors say the damaged property included a 32-inch Zekey-brand television valued at $240, a Mick radio valued at $66, a seven-piece cookware set valued at $125, and a Black & Decker iron valued at $45.
Although the prosecution raised no objection to bail, Magistrate Dennison ruled that bail would not be granted in the first instance, citing the domestic nature of the incident. McFoy was therefore remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
He is due to return to court on January 26, 2026, when bail will be reconsidered.
