By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A man has lost his life following a collision between two motorcycles in the Cayo District over the weekend.
The fatal crash happened on Saturday along the Cristo Rey road. According to police, officers responded to the area and found two damaged motorcycles, along with three people at the scene.
The man who died has been identified as Aurelio Bonell, also known as Jack Sparrow, who was 55 years old. Police say the two motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided, and Bonell succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.
Police spokesperson ACP Hilberto Romero said an investigation has been launched into the collision. Officials will determine at a later stage whether any charges are to be laid, and no fault has been established at this time.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
