By Breaking Belize News Staff: A family dispute on Monday has landed 21-year-old construction worker Thomas Palma before the court on a charge of harm after he allegedly punched his sister in the face.

Palma, a resident of Central American Boulevard, appeared unrepresented before the Chief Magistrate in Court #1, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. The allegation stems from a November 17, 2025 incident involving his sister.

With no objection from the prosecution, Palma was granted bail in the sum of $800 plus one surety of the same amount. As conditions of his bail, he must not interfere with his sister while the case remains ongoing, and he is required to report to the Racoon Street Police Station every Tuesday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

According to the police report, his sister told officers she was at home with her brother and both parents when an argument broke out between her and Thomas regarding her baby. Their father reportedly intervened, after which Thomas allegedly struck her in the face, causing swelling to her jaw. A doctor later classified her injuries as harm.

Palma is scheduled to return to court on January 27, 2026, where his case will be heard in Court #6.
