By Aaron Humes: A home invasion at a residential complex in Belize City early this morning, Friday, led to a violent attack that left a mother dead and her daughter injured.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., police received a call regarding a break-in at a green wooden house located at Complex Avenue. Police arrived at the scene to find a female minor with injuries to her head. Inside the house, they discovered 35-year-old Delecia Doreen Flowers lying unconscious on a sofa, suffering from a severe cut on the back of her head.
Emergency medical services rushed both Delecea and her young daughter to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for urgent treatment. However, Delecia was pronounced dead at 4:48 a.m.
Initial investigations revealed that around 3:00 a.m., an unknown male, described as having a dark complexion, entered the home and attacked both Delecia and her daughter before fleeing the scene. Police are now looking for a dark-skinned man in connection with the investigation.
