A man in France got more than he bargained for when he tried to kill a fly. The octogenarian, who lived in the village of Parcoul-Chenaud, was about to eat dinner when he used an electric racket to swat the fly. However, there was a leaking gas canister in his Dordogne home and the spark caused an explosion which destroyed the kitchen and partly damaged the roof of the house.

A horse has turned matchmaker, guiding a lonely woman to happiness. Caroline Mckain, 56, had been single for four years and had nearly given up hope of finding a man. Then an animal whisperer told her that her horse Fred had said Caroline would find love with a man from Devon with a scar on his leg. Soon after, she met a man from Devon through a dating site and after meeting him discovered he had a scar on his leg.

Hot cabin forces air passenger onto wing 

A passenger took a walk on the wing of her plane because she said it was too hot inside. Ukraine International Airlines said the woman “opened the emergency exit and went on to its wing” of the 737-800 just after it taxied to the gate at Kiev from Turkey. She had already complained that the cabin was “too hot”. Ukraine International Airlines said the passengers is now “blacklisted”.
