By Aaron Humes: A 24-year-old man was arrested early this morning, Saturday, January 17, in Orange Walk, after police found him in possession of suspected cocaine.
Darnel Stephan Valentine, of Half Moon Key Street, was detained by police officers while they were patrolling on Progress Street. The officers approached Valentine and his companions, and he threw a small object to the ground and fled. Police chased and detained him, recovering a transparent plastic bag containing 5 smaller bags of suspected cocaine weighing about 2.2 grams.
Valentine was cautioned and explained the offence of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. He was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, and the suspected drugs were weighed, sealed, and signed in his presence.
Valentine is also wanted for robbery and property damage by the Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB). He is currently detained pending charges.
