Man allegedly beats elderly employer to death with hammer; calls police on himself

By Aaron Humes: The murder victim in the village of Santa Martha, Orange Walk District has been identified as one Estelle Trapp, an elderly woman.

One man is being held on suspicion of murder. We understand police were called twice to the village but were not able to find the crime scene until they were directed to it by the suspected perpetrator, who said he had been arguing with Trapp, who was his employer. He is also reportedly the one who called police following the incident.

Trapp was found in a room with blood around her head. A hammer suspected to be the weapon used to kill was retrieved. Investigations continue.
