By Aaron Humes: Early this morning, Monday, police responded to reports of gunfire in the village of Mahogany Heights, Belize District, resulting in the hospitalization of a 26-year-old woman.
Police discovered multiple bullet holes in the walls of the home around 2:30 this morning. The injured woman, identified as Abreanna Ramsey, was transported to the Western Regional Hospital with gunshot wounds. Details from the initial investigation indicate that the incident occurred around 2:00 AM while Abreanna and her family were sleeping in their home. They were rudely awakened by loud bangs that sounded like gunfire. Abreanna’s husband, quickly checked the situation and found her injured. He immediately called the police and took her to the Western Regional Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Abreanna, as per the latest reports, is in stable condition. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
