Lords Bank man granted $1,000 bail after allegedly assaulting man with machete

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 46-year-old food vendor from Lords Bank is out on bail following his arraignment in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a charge of aggravated assault.

Darrell Franklin Bradley, who appeared unrepresented in court, pleaded not guilty to the allegation.

Bradley is accused of committing an aggravated assault on a man on Sunday, April 26, 2026, along the Philip Goldson Highway in front of Lowe’s Supermarket. Police allege that the incident involved the use of a deadly instrument, described as a black-handled machete.

With no objection to bail, the court granted Bradley bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet.

As part of his bail conditions, Bradley has been ordered not to interfere with the virtual complainant or any members of his family, whether directly or indirectly. He is also required to stay at least 25 feet away from them.

Bradley is scheduled to return to court on June 30, 2026, as proceedings in the matter continue.
