By Breaking Belize News Staff: Gian Teck is once again before the High Court facing a new sexual allegation, just weeks after walking free from a previous unlawful sexual intercourse (USI) charge that was abruptly discontinued mid-trial and just like his previous case, this one involves a 14-year-old girl.
Teck appeared this afternoon before Justice Nigel Pilgrim for a Case Management Conference (CMC) in relation to the new matter. The CMC was adjourned to February 19, 2026, to allow Teck time to further instruct his attorneys on how he intends to proceed. A trial date has not yet been set.
In this latest case, Teck is accused of having sexual intercourse with a minor aged 14 years and 11 months. He is being represented by Peta-Gaye Bradley and Javier Williams of the Legal Aid, Advice and Services Center, while the Crown is represented by Crown Counsel Kirk Brown from the Director of Public Prosecutions’ office.
Teck’s return to court comes shortly after a dramatic development in a separate USI case. On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Teck was freed in the middle of his judge-alone trial before Justice Candace Nanton when the Crown entered a nolle prosequi, effectively discontinuing the proceedings.
In that case, Teck had been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor aged 14. He was represented at the time by Attorney David McKoy. Although no reason was given in court for the Crown’s decision to enter the nolle prosequi, Justice Nanton reminded Teck that such an action does not amount to an acquittal and that the matter could be revived by the Crown in the future.
Teck left the courtroom a free man that day. However, he must now “face the music” once again as the new allegation moves through the High Court.
