By Zoila Palma: The Leadership Intervention Unit (LIU), an agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries, introduced a new approach to crime prevention in Belize City on Friday, bringing faith leaders into one of the city’s most volatile communities.
Pastors gathered near the end of Mahogany street to deliver messages of hope and guidance.
“The initiative marks a shift toward what the unit describes as a more holistic model of intervention that blends social outreach with spiritual development,” the unit noted.
Andrew Dawson, Director of the LIU, said the event represented the first in a series of spiritual revivals planned for 2025.
