By Aaron Humes: Opposition Leader Tracy Taegar-Panton says the United Democratic Party (UDP) determines its way forward based on the general election on March 12, not the now constitutionally invalid National Convention of October 20, 2024.

While her status within the Party as a member is concerned, she conceded that there were “missteps” in their calling of the October meeting and these are being corrected by proper means respected by the Party Constitution.

But the result on March 12 invalidates any claim by Moses “Shyne” Barrow to leadership of the Party, while Hugo Patt is the highest-ranking Party leader as first deputy, Panton told the media.

Panton says Barrow “has no say” moving forward, having lost his seat in the House and resigned (which he has taken back), and as far as she is concerned the Party does not have a maximum leader and will not until the convention decides.
