By Aaron Humes: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Taegar Panton has reaffirmed her commitment to holding the current government accountable.
This afternoon her parliamentary caucus will be meeting with the press in Belize City at the Biltmore Plaza at 1:30.
Panton emphasized her readiness to engage positively with the UDP Leadership Executive “when they are prepared to operate with integrity and transparency.” She had previously objected to the handling of the National Party Council meeting that was ultimately held last Saturday because many of her allies were excluded.
“We will be here ready to participate,” Panton declared, highlighting her intention to contribute to a more constructive political discourse as soon as the leadership prioritizes ethical governance. In the interim, she stated that the UDP Parliamentarian Caucus will dedicate its efforts to addressing national issues and ensuring that the “corrupt BLU PUP government” is held accountable for its actions.
